Trans Hotel's 2018 Wedding ShowcaseApr 04

Delighted to share these images from Trans Hotel’s 2018 Wedding Showcase which was held in Brisbane a couple of weeks ago. Designed to highlight not only the unique potential of this charming inner city venue to local and visiting couples alike but to showcase some of the talented Brisbane wedding vendors who the Trans Weddings team trust and love to work alongside at their events.

Situated in the heart of the CBD, the Transcontinental Hotel is a classic 1880’s heritage listed building that has been tastefully renovated into a charming and hugely versatile space for boutique weddings and events.

Stepping off the busy street and into the hotel, one can’t help but be immediately romanced by the grand staircase, dark timber floors and exposed brick walls. Heading up the stairs to the expansive function space, the magic continues with stained glass windows, historic furnishings and a gorgeous balcony overlooking the city lights.

Upon arriving at the showcase, guests were warmly welcomed by hosts Ash and Tomas along with a classy cocktail whipped up the resident barman. But it wasn’t only cocktails on offer, with an extensive drinks list available to select from which included a range of speciality wines, beers, ciders and a few other classics.

As couples explored the venue, discovering it’s potential for their Big Day, they were treated by tempting tastes from Hatted AGFC chef, Rob Campbell, who left guests mouths watering and dreaming of the culinary potential this venue affords.

But scrumptious food and drink was not all the showcase dished up and as the evening progressed, couples met and mingled with a hand-picked selection of friendly, talented and professional wedding vendors, who took the time to chat with them about their wedding dreams, thoughts and ideas and how they could help bring them to life.

Our showcasing stylists were Him & Her Events, a team of young Creatives passionate about bringing stylish and seamless weddings to life. Chatting with Head Stylist Danielle Hutton, as she laid the finishing touches on her elegant tablescape, I learned that it’s a genuine love of weddings and an obsession with perfectly planned events which fuels her work, along with the desire to design events which transcend trends, to be appreciated for years to come.

With lush blooms from showcasing florist Kate Dawes adorning the table, it was easy to see why this popular Brisbane florist has such a huge fan base – her work is next level! You only have to have a peek at her Instagram page to be blown away by epic hanging installations, unique table centrepieces and beautiful bridal bouquets.

Guests had fun striking a pose or two in the Photobooth Guys booth, playing with all of the cool props and taking home some cute Polaroids to help remember the evening by, as well as firsthand experience in how much of a party starter photobooths can be. Because really, who doesn’t love a photobooth?

As the evening unfolded, couples watched on as showcasing Hair and Makeup Artist,  Khesanh from The Beauty Case transformed our gorgeous model Lauranah into an even more gorgeous bride. Offering a bespoke hair and makeup experience, The Beauty Case are bridal specialists, bringing the salon to their brides (and bridesmaids) on the big day, which is exactly what you need to ensure you stay as relaxed and stress-free as possible on the morning of your wedding.  And with loads of experience creating all types of bridal looks, from beachy boho to high-end glamour, The Beauty Case has your bridal beauty needs well and truly covered.

With our model’s transformation complete, and gowned in an utterly dreamy Karen Willis Holmes dress, our live styled shoot with showcasing photographer Gavin James was ready to kick off! Guests watched on in wonder as Gavin snapped frame after delightful frame, before disappearing into the night to capture a few last epic shots against the backdrop of the city at night.
