Leather & Lace - Sunshine Coast Wedding InspirationSep 04

Naturelle Floral Designs - Lindy Yewen Photography - Honeywed

In celebration of the Sunshine Coast’s beauty, this inspirational boho shoot was brought together by a team of incredible vendors in Noosa’s Hinterland. We have a bit of a soft spot for Sunshine Coast weddings and this private property in Eumundi at the base of Mt Cooroy exemplifies exactly why.

Inspired by the natural beauty of its’ surroundings, this stunning hinterland shoot was captured by the Sunshine Coast’s renowned Lindy Photography and took place amidst winter’s warm afternoon glow underneath a stunning Apex arbour adorned with ferns, thryptomene, peach branches, and driftwood for a magical sunset ceremony.

Styled by Naturelle Floral Designs, our bride’s bohemian bouquet was a rustic mix of black roses, copper cymbidium orchids, copper phalaenopsis orchids, thryptomene, honeymoon roses, fern, nandinas foliage and copper spoon succulents.

This beautiful combination of florals was then bound with black lace, leather accents and hanging lace detail. We are seriously in love with this unique mingle of blooms all brought together with delicate and intricate details.

With hair and makeup styled perfectly to suit the day, our bride’s dewy, golden look ignited under a warm sun – natural in tone to match her bouquet’s earthy colour palette and loose bloom-entwined braids.

Perfectly complementing her Chuckles and Boo wedding dress, its vintage lace flowing sleeves and deep scooping back line created an incredibly soft silhouette among Noosa’s rustic background.

Peach Perfect developed a romantic stationery design incorporating natural textures of timber, clean whites, and beautiful leather ties. The bold, yet rustic feel of wood veneer cardstock, tan leather, and black created a striking design.

The low, timber reception tables lined with linen chairs were adorned with leather hide cushions and black lace doilies, perfectly contrasted with matte grey and black serving plates.

The shoot’s menu saw delicious, wholesome dishes created by Noosa Catering such as succulent roast lamb racks served with creamed potato, baby vegetables, and sweet potato crisps.

Other courses consisted of seared scallops, black sesame, cauliflower puree, squid ink tuile and micro herbs – or crispy pork, pea puree and salted caramel shards.

The magical day was completed with an incredible single tiered, gluten free, orange and almond torte. Edible lace, sugar leather straps and delicious handcrafted vanilla bean cookies from Sweet P Cakes and Cookies with lace icing made for the perfect dessert. This gorgeous shoot is sure to inspire your inner bohemian.

Barefoot at Broken Head

At the end of a single stretch of sand, your guests look to the north to the most easterly point of Australia – the Byron Bay Lighthouse. There is salt in the air, eucalypts crowded thick over the hills, and waves rolling in from the point.

After the ceremony, the guests walk a minute over the sand dunes through a simple back gate to reveal the minimal Balinese-inspired masterpiece that is Barefoot at Broken Head.

The huge central living pavilion opens up through accordion doors to the tropical garden and huge decks in which are set four other buildings, where the families and couples that are staying can have perfect privacy when they desire, and huge common areas when they would like to commune.

There are five luxury bedrooms and a separate kitchen and dining area overlooking the pools where you can watch the kids frolic in the 30cm deep reflection pool or dive deep into the 20m lap pool, both set in golden sandstone.

In the days before and after your reception have relatives or friends to stay, ride the bikes along the beach at low tide, or drive 10 minutes into town to enjoy Byron’s restaurants. With the sound of the sea from your bed and a world-class point break a minute from your room – this is the ultimate Australian beach house.

Co-ordinators love weddings at Barefoot at Broken Head because it’s all here – no need to organise a professional kitchen, bathrooms, electricity, decorations, cool room, marquees, public liability insurance, gate attendant, rubbish removal or indoor/outdoor ceremony options. All this is included in the reception fee.
