Very. Good. Question.
When you think about it, having your photograph taken isn’t really the most natural thing in the world for most people and your wedding day may (or may not) be the only time in your entire life that it is done by a professional.
And sadly, many people are convinced they don’t like having their photo taken or that they look terrible in photos.
Truth 1: If you don’t enjoy having your photo taken, it’s more than likely only because you’ve never had it done by a professional photographer.
Truth 2: When done right, everyone can be photographed beautifully and look amazing in their wedding day images.
For the most part, I will be around you all day, however, it’s more than likely you will have totally forgotten I am there before your hair and makeup is even finished.
As for shooting portraits, well it’s slightly different but this is where the magic comes in…
People all connect in different ways, and for me, as your wedding photographer, it’s really just a matter of allowing that individual spark or connection to shine through so that in essence, what we are really capturing is a fourth-dimensional experience within a two-dimensional format.
In this way, worrying about how you ‘should’ be posing or feeling awkward about the fact you are being photographed seem to just fall to the wayside, and you will be able to really ‘see’ yourselves and the people you were at this point in time as you look back on these images for the rest of your lives.
Trust me, when your photography is done right, you won’t even remember being photographed, only how you felt on the most important day of your lives. As it should be.
